Further City of Sydney support for the Minerva Theatre

Mid October 2021 Create NSW announced as a $5 million Theatre and Film Strategy to develop theatrical and film studio infrastructure to secure international productions while strengthening local productions. Deputy Lord Mayor Jess Scully and Councillor Lyndon Gannon supported the move while drawing parallels with joint feasibility study commissioned by the City of Sydney and Create NSW into the viability of the Minerva Theatre. They also moved that the Lord Mayor Clover Moore write to the arts minister Ben Franklin requesting an update while conveying the support of the City of Sydney.
